thrift embraces the origins of the 13th century English meaning: ‘to thrive, how to manage, respect, & make use of the best of what precious resources given by nature’ in correspondence with the resurgence of empirical values in art, craft, design, and industry in the 21st century.

The journal is devoted to cover all fields of aesthetics, bespoke, craft heritage, lifestyle, industry practice, material research, & art conservation that are entangled in the historical & contemporary networks of socio-cultural & economics, consumption, science, technology, politics, globalization, geography, trade, and sourcing.

It is our goal for thrift to be an online journal, & an annual limited publication.
